Goal / Focus
Students will use a contemporary inspiration to imagine and design currency of their own- from an imagined planet or country!

Material / Skill / Technique
Students sketch, plan, then print their designs for an imagined currency in multiples using a foam etching printmaking process.

Art Historical / Contemporary Context
Students will be inspired by Calvin Marcus’s painting “No Need Here” (2019)- a painting of an alien from outer space flipping a quarter away because he has no use for our currency.
